We are planning to make a render of a medieval-style desk to serve as the new header for this website. To achieve this, we have modeled a series of 3D assets that would typically be found in a setting with these characteristics. We aim to make our 3D models with topology as clean as possible. Additionally, we try to optimize the number of polygons as much as we can to generate smooth subdivisions and surfaces.
To unwrap the models, we use Blender’s UV editor and make every effort to be as thorough as possible. We aim to create clean UVs that are easy to read and edit.
For this collection, all the texturing has been done using Substance Painter. The shader used for all these models is Blender’s new Principled Shader.
We are very happy with the dramatic improvement in the surface quality of these new assets compared to the previous Victorian furniture models.
We believe that using Substance and PBR methods has added a new level of realism to our assets.
